Australian Landscape Conference

Friday, 4 October 2013

I've just returned from a week at the Australian Landscape Conference in Melbourne, where we were treated to outstanding lectures by leading landscape architects and designers from around the world -India, Chile, Europe, Japan, New York, Florida, Australia.

The themes and subjects varied from the Mediterranean garden style to the work of Roberto Burle Marx in Mexico and South America.

Following the conference, I attended workshops on roof gardens, vertical wall gardens, children's playgrounds, and edible gardens. These workshops looked at the principles and ethics behind such gardens, and outlined the latest technologies, specifications, and best practice being used worldwide.

In future `blogs' and `gardening tips', I'll cover some of these gardening situations.
